About Gabriella Cramer

My passion lies in Maritime Compliance, where I have built a career. My journey began with hands-on experience in the deck and interior departments of luxury yachts (25-65 meters). This sparked my pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Marine Affairs/Environmental Science at the University of Miami, solidifying my dedication to regulatory understanding. My academic foundation also includes a background in Maritime Law from Fort Lauderdale's Irwin Law Firm (assisting on purchase/sale transactions, assisting on admiralty cases, and learning local/state maritime rules in Florida) and an LLM from the University of Southampton (studying EU & UK law, admiralty, SOLAS, MARPOL, LY3, CLC, LLMC and OPA). I then transitioned to Y.CO, where I spent seven years (Oct 2017 - Oct 2024) in roles spanning Yacht and Crew Compliance, Client Management, Lead Yacht Operations for the US, and DPA/CSO. My responsibilities included conducting numerous ISM and ISPS Internal Audits (with MLC inspection elements) on motor and sail yachts (22m - 92m), leading onboardings, acting as a Team Lead for Emergency Response, and co-developing improved procedures. Driven by my passion and experience, I founded GC Maritime Consulting & Training, LLC in Nov. My goal is to provide maritime compliance support that fosters a standardized and healthy safety culture within the industry. I love what I do!
