Background
About Gabriella Landeros
Gabriella Marie Landeros holds a B.A. in Media and Cultural Studies, and a minor in Spanish from the University of California, Riverside. Currently, Gabriella is a Communications Organizer for the California Teachers Association, which is affiliated with the 3 million-member National Education Association. In this capacity, she coordinates statewide media efforts and supports local chapters with their communications needs. Before this, she was the Communications Director for a City of Los Angeles councilmember and Press Secretary for the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. In this position, Gabriella supported over 300 affiliated labor unions and workers with their media needs and led communications for the organization’s campaigns and programs. She also advised and prepared the Federation's president for all media appearances and speaking obligations. Additionally, Gabriella was one of the first two women to be appointed to her hometown's (South El Monte, CA) Planning Commission since the city incorporated in 1958. In this role, she acted in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to community development. Gabriella was also selected by her colleagues to serve as the Vice-Chairperson, making her the first woman to ever hold a leadership position on this Commission. Prior to returning to her home state of California, Gabriella was a Presidential Appointee in the Obama Administration where she served as Press Assistant at the U.S. Department of Commerce. In this capacity, she created a process to report daily activities to the White House and created bilingual media content for the Secretary’s “Open for Business” agenda. Specialties: writing, editing, reporting, public relations, marketing, social media, new media, video editing, basic graphic design, research, and Spanish translation and interpreting.
