About Gabrielle Hess

A hard-working, organized, and motivated college student at Minnesota State University, Mankato that plans to graduate from an accredited, family-focused nursing program with my BSN in May of 2020. My vast experience in health care, along with years of experience in the restaurant industry, have taught me not only imperative nursing practice skills, but also teamwork, time management, interpersonal relations, and compassion. I am involved in the Catholic Newman Center and Student Nurses Association, stay active in volunteering, and obtain a part-time job as a server. Clinical placements throughout the past two years with the nursing program include Medical/Surgical units at the Mayo Clinic in Mankato (will participate in another Med/Surg clinical at Abbott Northwestern in February), Pediatric unit at HCMC, Labor and Delivery at the Fairview hospital in Waconia, Mental Health unit at Abbott Northwestern, and Public Health in the Martin county area. In addition, I had a summer internship with the Mayo Clinic in the Family Birthing Center and plan to complete my capstone, or preceptorship, on this same unit in the spring. While my time in college has been busy, I have learned how to manage my time and prioritize my responsibilities in order to become the best nurse that I can be.
