About Gabrielle Prisco

I'm a social change executive with 20+ years of experience. I lead and work relationally—and with a synergistic mix of creativity, vision, hard work, heart, analytic rigor, dependability, and curiosity. I have a successful track record of building policies, procedures, and cultures that support an organization’s mission and the people + values that animate that mission. My bold vision was recognized as one of 20 Finalists for The David Prize (over 10k applicants). As an attorney, I'm comfortable with fine print, negotiations, contracts, and compliance. I'm committed to collective impact—and co-lead a large, diverse network of 80+ female-identified social change leaders across NYC. I believe that when problems are webs they will never be solved by lone wolves. My commitment to multi-racial, collective leadership first took root when I was a 17-year-old Posse Scholar at the Posse Foundation—and it remains a North Star and guiding practice. I’ve been a civil rights/liberties attorney; a trial attorney for children in “child abuse and neglect” and “juvenile delinquency” cases; a policy and legislative advocate; a constitutional law teaching fellow; and the leader of a direct services nonprofit. All of this work has centered racial justice; the needs and rights of young people in/impacted by systems; and the ways in which committed people, working toward a common purpose, can radically change "business as usual." I've led teams through periods of growth and through significant challenges. I've also co-created and helped deepen/sustain organizational infrastructure and culture; cultivated financial resources (foundations and individuals alike); and designed/facilitated a range of trainings (internal + external). I'm a dynamic public speaker (including at TEDx), and an accomplished writer (both professional + creative). I'm writing an epic, magic realist novel tracing a lineage of women across a century, two World Wars, and multiple dimensions of reality.
