About Gaetano Pollara

I’ve always been curious since I was a child: I’ve practiced several sports like basketball, soccer, and calisthenics, I played different instruments like piano, guitar, and ukulele, and I was a scout for a big period of my life. This curiosity is reflected in my academic career: in fact, I graduated in Mechanical Engineering first, and then I got a Master's degree in Biomaterials Engineering. In my thesis, I worked with Laser-Powder bed fusion technology, and I was so interested in this topic that I decided to become a PhD student in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Management, and Aerospace Innovation to explore and deeply understand this process. During my visiting period at Duke University I grew up as a researcher and as a person; in addition, I used my time there as an opportunity to improve my English. Moreover, I discovered a passion for traveling and meeting new cultures. I firmly believe in the principle of lifelong learning and in creating a work-life balance.
