About Gail Goodman

I founded Talking Alternatives in 2013. Our mediation work is focused on families with a specialty in Elder and Adult Family Mediation and Parent/Teen Mediation. We believe in early intervention, helping people before they enter the court or justice systems. We mediate with families who are confronting stressful decisions around estate and caregiving issues. Through facilitated conversations, we help adult siblings reopen channels of communication so they can finally discuss difficult problems and reach mutually beneficial agreements. As neutral third parties, we work with clients referred to us by caseworkers, lawyers and financial advisors, among others, and their clients return to them communicating with each other and able to make decisions together. We also coach those in need of skills to cope with, or resolve conflict. Talking Alternative mediators help parents and teens improve their communication and relationships, and break their cycle of combative interaction. Sometimes families 'get stuck' and are unable to move beyond their their longstanding issues. We help them to move on.
