Background
About Galen Abts
I am a professional vocalist who has been trained at the Musicians Institute in performance, sight singing, ear training, harmony and theory, and vocal technique. As a teachers assistant at the Musicians Institute I bring over a year's experience in session work, vocal coaching, music tutoring, and performance, as well as being a founding member, lyricist, and lead vocalist for the hard rock band Illicit since Feb 2018. As the lead vocalist for Illicit and a background vocalist for a few other bands, I have performed all over the Los Angeles area at venues such as the Whiskey a Go Go, the Rainbow Bar and Grill, Molly Malone's, the Alley, Silverlake Lounge, Hotel Cafe, ect. Through my schooling at MI I have also been trained in social and visual media in the music business specifically. I currently design all event flyers, event post, and album/single artwork for Illicit as well as some video editing. Simply put, if you need a session vocalist, lead singer, background singer, or a musical coach or tutor, I'm your guy!
