About Galen McCarty

Born and raised in KY, I attended the University of Kentucky where I graduated with a BSc in Environmental Science in 2019. After graduating, I worked in the field on environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance with landfill gas systems across Kentucky and Ohio. I eventually decided to switch from the field to a laboratory setting, where I now carry out quality control in a cGMP cannabis quality lab, performing analysis of internal samples using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. I am solely responsible for the daily calibration, maintenance, and upkeep of our Shimadzu LC-2040C LC-MS, troubleshooting with Shimadzu technical support as well as independently diagnosing and repairing any issues to ensure maximum accuracy, precision, and uptime of our instrument. I'm also responsible for generating all COAs for the cannabinoid analysis of internal samples that guide our daily operations and production processes. I have a fantastic work ethic and pride myself on my ability to quickly and efficiently accomplish highly technical tasks as well as rapidly learn and assimilate new skillsets. I'm always learning and progressing.
