About Gally Mayer

As the CEO and Co-founder of Buena Vida Specialty Coffee, I am dedicated to transforming the coffee industry through regenerative practices that promote farmer prosperity and soil health. My mission focuses on creating sustainable financial opportunities for farmers by facilitating bank loans at Development Bank rates and developing comprehensive technical assistance manuals with farmers. I also foster a robust network of agronomists to support the transition of coffee farms to regenerative agriculture. I serve on the advisory boards of documentaries like Kiss The Ground and Common Ground, and soon to be released Ground Swell, contributing to raising awareness about the current state of our planet and the necessary steps towards restoring our eco system to its original state. Additionally, I am proud to serve on the Georgetown University Baratta Center, Business for Global Good. I am also a proud member of Daughters for Earth, advocating for environmental stewardship and sustainability. Also, a member of Pleaides Network, Les Dames d'Escoffier NY, and a member of the Miller Center Accelerator at Santa Clara University. My passion for building a collaborative platform unites action-oriented individuals, free from greenwashing, while I develop traceability tools that ensure transparency and equality in our coffee supply chain. Regeneration is essential for securing a healthy future for both our planet and its people. I also play an active role in the @futbolxmipais foundation, which uses soccer to inspire and empower children from vulnerable communities in Costa Rica, helping them make positive life choices. Based in Costa Rica, I work closely with farmers from Central America and beyond, advocating for change in an industry where over 80% of farmers live on or below the poverty line. It is unacceptable to neglect the healing of our soils and the urgent need to fix our broken food systems. By prioritizing regeneration, we can engage the next generations of farmers in a sustainable trade that benefits everyone involved.
