About Gared Duim

Drawn to engineering by my passion for analytical problem solving and interest in physical systems, I received my degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Materials Science, from Queen's University as a member of the class of 2018 and became a P. Eng (currently non-practicing) in September of 2022. During my studies it became apparent through exposure to various 3D CAD softwares that my greatest strengths lay in spatial reasoning and 3D conceptualization. I have applied these skills across multiple industries, including construction, automotive, aerospace, and nuclear, often utilizing LiDAR-captured point cloud data. Recently, I have shifted my focus to developing automated processes that enhance the design and analysis of spatial data, enabling the creation of parametric models for drawing and fabrication deliverables. Outside of work, I am an outdoor enthusiast. I enjoy mountain biking, canoe camping, and skiing, all of which stem from my years at summer camp. These experiences have fostered a deep respect for the environment, and I aspire to blend my passions for nature with my professional ambition.
