About Gareth Gelderbloem

Hi, I am Gareth. I am a South African QA Automation Engineer working remotely from Mexico. I started out with frontend testing using Selenium and protractor to create automated regression tests. With the deprecation of protractor I made the shift to Cypress to automate frontend testing. Working with my team to generate automated tests to create a feedback loop on completed work for reporting to clients. I have worked on upskilling my unit and integration skills in C# and Java through white box testing for backend work. Then worked on unit testing components in Angular to improve the feedback to the team on where the project is in terms of quality and coverage of code. This lead to working with test environment setup for projects using Docker and Test Containers to allow for integration environment set up in Java and C# projects. Working in an agile environment, especially being a fully remote worker, communication skills have been crucial to being productive and keeping up to date with the client demands and meeting goals and deadlines. I enjoy challenges and growing my skills to benefit the team around me by providing more support through testing and reporting on bugs or better ways of operating to complete tasks and meet client requirements.
