In my current position as a Business & Investment Support Officer at Wrexham Council, I’ve played a central role in helping the County strengthen its economy through strategic planning, partnership development, and hands-on support for businesses of all sizes — from ambitious start-ups to established employers and inward investors. My work has focused on enabling growth, unlocking funding, and creating opportunities that contribute to Wrexham’s long-term prosperity. I bring a proven track record of delivering high-impact projects and securing significant external funding — including personally writing successful bids that have brought over £1 million in new investment to Wrexham. I’ve also led the design and delivery of innovative business support services, managed large-scale events such as the 2024 and 2025 “Elevate Your Business in Wrexham” conferences, and implemented digital transformation initiatives that have improved accessibility, efficiency, and engagement across our services. Recognised nationally as the UK National Library Champion (2014) for my work developing the Businessline service, I’ve demonstrated a consistent ability to deliver quality, impactful outcomes. My work has also been cited in the UK Government’s Libraries Shaping the Future toolkit as an example of best practice - an achievement that reflects both creativity and commitment to public service innovation. I have a strong interest in financial management, performance reporting, and governance. Over the years, I’ve designed and implemented systems that ensure compliance, transparency, and efficiency in the management of grants and externally funded projects — including playing a key role in delivering £4.5 million in emergency Welsh Government COVID-19 business grants. As Wrexham continues to experience strong growth and new investment, I’m eager to contribute even more strategically — ensuring that local businesses, communities, and investors can fully benefit from initiatives like the Flintshire & Wrexham Investment Zone. My goal is to help shape Wrexham’s next chapter of economic success, ensuring the County remains a dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking place to live, work, and invest.
