I continue to grow as a musician through my experiences in the band Bemis, through other performance projects, through the events I plan and manage and through the way I develop as a songwriter. Success in songwriting has given me the opportunity to compose original music and songs for a professional theatre company. Teaching the Music Performance and Music Technology Level 3 BTEC courses has developed into Choir directing, with me now being the Choir director of 4 distinctive Choirs." Gareth is a musician, music composer, singer-songwriter and music teacher who has over 20 years of live concert experience behind him and has been seen around the country at many UK festivals since 2006 with the multi-award winning acoustic rock band “BEMIS”. Over the years Bemis have become regular repeat bookings for many acclaimed festivals across the UK. Their sell out shows at venues like the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth have given them featured articles in national music magazines. Their 6 albums are highly rated and consistently continual sellers for the band. He also leads the Music courses at Portsmouth College, teaching Music Technology and Music Performance. He has been called on as a judge on many singing and “battle of the bands” competitions over the years for various venues, awards and age groups. He has recently become an active committee member for the Portsmouth Schools Music Festival; directing and conducting the Secondary Schools Choir, as well as becoming the Secondary School advisor. He was also the curator, host and artist liaison for the 2nd stage at the Southsea Show in 2013 and currently in 2014. He wrote original music and songs for the award winning Titchfield Festival Theatre Production, “Scorched” in 2013, which featured heavily throughout the production. In 2016, two of his poems and his lyrics for the song "People Live On" will be featured in the book,"Filling the Void" a poetry anthology due to be published in the Spring.
