About Gareth Jenner

Being passionate about inspiring others with a strong subject knowledge has allowed me to become an effective educator, one who has rapidly experienced and successfully adapted to a range of educational systems whilst also contributing positively to others. With an excellent understanding of teaching and learning, I consistently build a rapport with my students that is appropriately personable and motivating. I am always looking for opportunities to assist my peers and enrich other people's experience using my skillset. Personally, I confidently pursue my goals with success. I made the decision to become a science teacher at the age of 15, it was during this time I first wanted to visit Japan as I was studying the language for GCSE. When I was fortunate enough to visit Japan on holiday I decided that my next goal was to live there in order to develop my language skills. Originally I was successful in receiving a working holiday visa after a year of teaching in a state school but before I had left the UK I had been offered a job as a science teacher at a progressive international school in Tokyo which has allowed me to increase my time in Japan as well as ensuring that I am consistently furthering my own knowledge and abilities in education.
