ABOUT ME With a solid foundation in the Oil and Gas sector, I'm eager to extend my expertise into the sustainable energy domain. Throughout my career, I've seen the transformative power of tools like Python in Process Engineering. Not only is it a game-changer for data analysis in design and rerating, but it also ensures consistent calculations and fosters automation. My ambition is to seamlessly weave Python into my daily tasks, blending the rigor of traditional engineering with the agility of modern computational techniques. This vision is bolstered by my extensive experience in plant support, troubleshooting, and simulation. The insights from my M.Eng Engineering Management dissertation have been instrumental in the myriad of projects I've led, from their conception to commissioning and performance testing. The knowledge I gained in my M.Eng Engineering Management dissertation has proven valuable on the small to medium sized projects that I have worked on from idea generation to commissioning and performance testing. I have been the lead engineer on several projects and have led numerous test runs. Aspen HYSYS, Aspen EDR, AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, Python, Matlab and Visual Basic in MS Excel and are some of the platforms I have worked with extensively. I have successfully developed numerous programs to aid operators to more efficiently and proactively monitor the plant. My most recent interests include machine learning and automation. I am detail-oriented, motivated and hard-working. I like to be exposed to technical challenges and although I work independently, I also work well in teams. In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit, learning new languages and programming. I take part in Kaggle Machine Learning competitions and CodeWars and enjoy working with electronics and Arduinos. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS • Lead process engineer for the simultaneous turnaround and inspection of 5 major units with 27 direct reports from 6 different organisations. • Lead Design Engineer for Piping, Process and Mechanical Engineering with 6 direct reports. • Lead Plant Support Engineer role with 4 direct reports. • Manager of Energy Efficiency in 12 Gas Production units at Sasol. • Lead of several optimisation unit test runs for Sasol Secunda and Natref Refinery (related to throughput, stability, energy efficiency, yield). • Commissioning of LPG spheres, as well as tank farm and safety systems design in Africa. • Automated a technical report generation tool for my team to reduce computation and compilation time from three days to one hour. • Mentoring of junior engineers.
