About Gareth Rees

Gareth joined Liberty Mutual’s subsidiary, Pembroke, from AIG where he was UK Manager for M&A Insurance, having previously been AIG’s Group M&A Underwriting Counsel for EMEA & APAC. Before AIG, Gareth practised at Pinsent Masons LLP for over 10 years as a Private Equity/M&A lawyer gaining extensive experience across the full range of M&A transactions. During this time, Gareth undertook a secondment in a commercial role to the private equity division of a large investment bank. Gareth has broad experience of working with private equity funds, corporates, management teams and a wide range of M&A advisors across the EMEA, North American and APAC regions. He brings a deep knowledge of both the technical and commercial aspects of M&A transactions from a legal and insurance perspective, together with strong strategic, management and leadership skills. Gareth is a thought-leader within the M&A insurance industry, regularly speaking at conferences on market trends, coverage issues and claims handling.
