About Gareth Waugh

Gareth Waugh serves as the Vice President of Port Blakely’s US Forestry Division. He has a 25-year tenure with the company in the United States and in his native New Zealand. In his role, Gareth provides leadership for the Wildlife, Operations, and Resources teams at Port Blakely, aligning their efforts with the organization’s mission of cultivating a healthy world guided by values of stewardship and respect. Gareth is an alumnus of the University of Washington, where he earned his MBA, and the University of Canterbury, where he holds degrees in Forestry Science and Commerce. Additionally, he graduated from the Washington-based AgForestry Leadership program as part of the Class 40 cohort. Residing in Olympia, Washington, Gareth shares his life with his wife, Emily, who works as a librarian at Reeves Middle School. Together, they are raising two spirited children alongside their labradoodle, Banjo. The Waugh family enjoys their leisure time exploring the great outdoors, camping across the scenic landscapes of Washington and Oregon, and embarking on travel adventures. Port Blakely US Forestry, a division of Port Blakely, cultivates forestland to provide the world with renewable forest products and healthy wildlife habitat. With family owners whose roots in forestry run five generations deep, Port Blakely takes the long view, advancing the science and practice of sustainable forestry for the greater good while treating neighbors and employees with genuine, lasting respect.
