About Garreth Austin

Blending scientific precision with creative passion, I bring a unique and visionary approach to brewing—where multidisciplinary lab experience meets a love for craft. I’m excited about the future of the beer industry and eager to contribute to its innovation. I hold a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in biotechnology and an interdisciplinary honors minor. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in cell, molecular, and microbiology, as well as chemistry experience with organic extractions, purifications, and analytical techniques including chromatography, spectroscopy, and H/C-NMR. I also have some programming experience for data analysis. Beyond the lab, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the customer experience as a bartender in fine dining environments. This has sharpened my communication skills, fostered creativity, and deepened my understanding of the overall sensory experience, presentation, and hospitality. I’m looking to bridge these worlds—science, creativity, and craft—into a career where I can help shape the next wave of brewing innovation.
