About Garrett Dillon

Garrett Dillon is a senior partner in VLMG's San Francisco office. He is an experienced counselor primarily focusing on advising general contractor clients about contract planning, administration and dispute resolution, with additional experience working with design consultants. His experience includes litigating and arbitrating various disputes on industrial, civil, energy, transportation and commercial projects, with a particular focus on large complex projects involving multiple claims from and against project owners and subcontractors. In addition to litigation, arbitration and other dispute resolution pursuits, Garrett also focuses on pre-project risk management through drafting and updating general contracts, subcontracts, and specialty contracts for clients. He has successfully negotiated dozens of construction contracts on behalf of his clients that include necessary protections and endeavor to avoid unfavorable risk transfer provisions. Garrett also has extensive experience negotiating and resolving pre-litigation claims before the claims give rise to formal litigation or arbitration proceedings. Garrett has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer in Construction and also holds a LEED AP designation. As a LEED AP, Garrett possesses an understanding of green building strategies to assist clients through the LEED certification process. Garrett has also been involved with AGC of California for over eleven years, participating throughout in the Legal Advisory Committee and Associates Council. He also sat on the AGC of California Executive Committee for two years as Chair of the Associates Council.
