About Garrett Hansen

As far back as I can remember I have been working in one form or another. As a young child I helped my dad run his small business of owning/managing apartments in Southern California. Obviously my skill set with which I could help back in those days was extremely limited, but some of the tasks I assisted on included maintaining appliances such as washers, dryers, dish washers, and many more. Repainting damaged surfaces and collecting rent, both late and on time, and observing the counting process of the income. Since those days I have been very interested in many different fields and have worked in the food service industry, retail, emergency services, vessel recovery, military cadet at an academy and now I am pursuing a degree in biology. Through my positions in the food service industry at Albertsons, Starbucks, In n Out Burger and Papa Johns Pizza, I have learned many skills in customer service, food handling, attention to detail, and coworker relations. My retail positions at Target, and Tristate Respiratory, taught me many skills including a successful sales mindset and cemented my customer service skills. My experience with Vessel Assist and Marine Solutions Recovery taught me many life skills in a real world environment, where attention to detail could be the difference between the damaging of very expensive property, or even serious injury or death when dealing with salvaging sinking boats. My time at Valley Forge Military College taught me self reliance and self motivation, while also cementing my drive to be a part of a team whether that is a leadership position, or a follower position. My time as a Firefighter and EMT taught me how to approach material that I had never had exposure to before, and master it to the point that I could save someone's life with those skills. I look at every new position as an opportunity to grow and learn a new skill, as well as experience new adventures!
