About Garrison Prentice

I have been in the workforce since 2017 with a variety of different full-time, part-time, freelance, and volunteer positions, including fast food, drywalling, concert venue set up/take down, and most recently plant work. Through these experiences I have learned a variety of skills related to working as a team, meeting quotas and deadlines, problem solving, adapting to new environments, training others, and understanding the larger cause of my work. I plan to carry these skills with me into my career in marketing and improve on them as well as learning new ones.My interest in marketing stems from my interest in the automotive industry. I have always had an interest in cars, but in recent years that interest has grown to include the companies themselves, their histories, decisions, and futures. In the automotive industry today I see a lot of exciting new advancements, as well as some changes in direction that confuse or upset me, as well as many others, and my goal is to eventually get on board with these changes and become a member of the teams steering the industry, for both the industry's interests and my own personal ones.My current job experience unfortunately does not yet reflect my interests, although I have tried to find positions related to automotive, my path of life has not yet made that successful connection, which is what I hope to soon change. Outside of job experience, however, I have devoted countless hours to studying automotive companies, their history of making vehicles, the choices they make today, and where these choices are leading them.Aside from my primary interests, I am also seeking to become part of a work environment that I can best suit - individual, communicative, understanding, and supportive. My past and current job experience has taught me to embrace individuality and that the speed a person works at does not reflect the efficiency at which they do their work. When training other employees, I always make it my goal to take things slow and explain as much as possible, so that whoever I am training can firmly grasp the basics and make advancements on their own.
