About Garrison Spik

I’m a writer and editor with 25+ years of global experience in advertising, communications, journalism, publishing, and international development. In Japan, I created, wrote, and helped manage worldwide advertising campaigns for blue-chip clients such as Nikon, Pioneer, and NEC. I was also a journalist, feature-writer, music columnist, and film critic at Japanese newspapers and magazines. At a boutique publisher in Washington, D.C, I edited and wrote articles for more than a dozen magazines. Also in the capital, I directed communications for a high-end retailer, leading advertising, media outreach, and promotions, and was a technical writer/editor for development contractors working with the U.S. government. I’ve managed graphic designers and led creative conceptualization of print and online marketing/advertising campaigns. I’ve covered tours and concerts for well-known rock’n’roll bands. Humor, cool-headedness, and quiet confidence have been integral to what I believe has been a pretty great career.
