About Garrison Whitaker

My goal is to provide patients with a class-leading level of expertise and technical ability while managing maladies of the hand and upper-extremity. I take pride in providing informed, sympathetic and compassionate surgical options and opinions for my patients. Initially, my focus was the treatment of the upper extremity using a minimally invasive approch whenever possible. Newly developed instrumentation and techniques allow me to visualize and protect the nerve at all times. Smaller incisions, faster procedures, quicker recovery. Currently at a Level II trauma center that consistently delivers complex bony and soft tissue injuries from the elbow down. I've enjoyed the increasing challenge of upper extremity wound coverage, reconstruction and tendon transfers required by presenting patients. I am a well-rounded and complete hand surgeon in the original mold of Kleinert, meaning I am capable of handling and and all upper extremity injuries, with an eclectic playlist to get my surgical team through longer cases. Specialties: Surgical and medical management of all injuries/conditions of the Hand. Specializing in the endoscopic treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel, digit triggering and hand and wrist arthritis. Experienced in advanced wrist arthroscopy including the treatment of thumb cmc osteoarthritis, ganglion cyst excision, TFCC repairs and ligamentous repair. Special interest and experience in the minimally invasive or endoscopic revision of previous open carpal tunnel release as well as Pronator Teres syndrome and extensive experience with the treatment of Dupuytren's contractures.
