About Garry Lewis

My current employment as a Senior Accountant has provided me with extensive opportunities to develop my skills and understanding with the preparation of a full set of financial statements from the client’s own records in compliance with prevailing UK GAAP. I continue to do this to an excellent standard from whatever format the client’s records are presented to me. I prepare personal tax computations and corporation tax computations for filing. Supervision is not required, and I report directly to the partner for which I am accountable. I am fully proficient in the workings of VAT rules and the online submissions to HMRC. I have knowledge of the Charities SORP and PAYE/NIC regulations. I am fully adept in the use of Iris Accountancy Software, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. I am compliant with Sage Accounting Software in relation to bookkeeping and the extrapolation of data to produce a set of financial statements. I have also experienced the forecasting of future budgets with this client. I have also prepared monthly management accounts for other clients. As external auditors, I am a regular team member on the many audits that my employer has been voted to carry out. This includes being involved in the planning, execution and finalisation of an audit. I have also produced whole manuals on the audit client’s internal systems and controls. As a part qualified ACCA accountant (final level in progress), I follow the five fundamental principles of the code of ethics as outlined by my employer and the accounting bodies that I am a member of (AAT and ACCA). These are integrity, objectivity, professional competence and due care, confidentiality and professional behaviour. I am a self-motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious person. I am a good communicator and work well as part of the team and enjoy taking on responsibilities when called to do so. I have the ability to learn from my mistakes in a positive manner. I am reliable, flexible and dedicated in my work.
