From Engineer - Manager Since starting my working life as an electrical apprentice many moons ago, I have tried to gain as much experience in as many fields as possible. This is definitely a constant through my career, I have a vast range of experience in many different aspects of the electrical & mechanical fields including single & three phase electrical installations & maintenance in commercial, industrial, domestic & agricultural settings. TV aerial, satellite dishes, door access, intruder alarms, fire alarm & CCTV installation & maintenance. Air conditioning & refrigeration installation & maintenance, Inspecting & testing electrical installations. I have also been an appointed person for confined spaces entries, medical gas systems, low voltage systems & pressure systems. I have been coordinating AP for at least two of these disciplines. I have completed a BOAS manager award through the Combustion Engineering Association, gained member status of the IWFM ( formerly BIFM) completed my IAM advanced motorcycle test & still continue to learn new things every day. I believe in a firm but fair attitude to management, I also believe that good succession planning, investment & training is key to keeping your best employees. I think that coming from an engineering back ground into management has helped me to see both sides of the coin, recognising how important the mission is, but not forgetting the importance of looking after your Team.
