Garth Donovan is an award winning independent filmmaker. His latest film, Rubberneck, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival 2012. The Hollywood Reporter said " offers surprises without exploitation, and resolves itself far more realistically than thrillers typically do" and the Wall Street Journal said "has its antecedents in everything from German Expressionist classics to 1970s slasher flicks to the tense, static psycho-dramas of Michael Haneke." Garth's feature film, Phillip The Fossil, won the Special Jury Award for Best Individual Performance at SXSW 2010 and Variety said "The influence of precedents like Larry Clark's "Kids" and "Bully" permeates Donovan's film, to its great stylistic benefit." Everyone's Got One, Garth's feature film debut was named "New England's Best Comedy 2003" by the National Society of Film Critics. Currently in post-production, Garth is working on The Great American Guinea Pig: The Rodney Lucas Story a feature documentary. Revolving around Rodney Lucas, an aspiring hip-hop artist who performs under the moniker F.Stokes, the film is a bare-all character study exposing Lucas’s battles both on and off the stage. When not in front of the camera, Garth is also a professional house painter who runs his own small business: Donovan Painting. Focusing on residential work in the western suburbs, Donovan Painting has a loyal client base that is growing due to quality service and craftsmanship.
