About Garth Gimbert
I completed the Toronto Film Orientation Workshop through IATSE 873 in 2015, and began working as a Permit, taking calls for both Paint and Carpentry. I became a full member in 2019. In September 2020 I took the Paint Trade test and am now a Scenic member. I keep my skills up-to-date through regular training. I enjoy employing different techniques to achieve faux finishes for brick, wood grain and metal. I especially enjoyed using fire as an aging/distressing technique. Before joining IATSE, I acquired twenty years of overall construction experience including high-rise construction, painting and renovations. I am hard working, safety-conscious and meet deadlines promptly while producing high-quality work.
