About Gary Bloss

Gary has over 30 years experience in the field of landscape architecture, community and natural resource planning. In September of 2006 he was appointed as the first Executive Director for the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership. Prior to this position Gary ran his own consulting firm, specializing in community planning, watershed conservation, greenways, open space, and trails. He is a licensed Landscape Architect in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and a licensed Professional Planner in the state of New Jersey. Over the course of his career Gary has worked for several architectural and engineering consulting firms where he pioneered the use of Geographic Information Systems as a tool for projects dealing with urbanization and change scenarios. He recently served as the Greenway Coordinator for the Stroud Region Open Space And Recreation Commission and currently co-manages an organic farm and CSA with his wife Heidi Secord while working to foster a local/regional sustainable food system. He serves on the Steering Committee for the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Group - NESAWG and is on the Board of the Brodhead Watershed Association.
