About Gary Bolinger

A provocative thinker on association value, governance and structure and the future of the CPA Profession. In 1989, he completed the curriculum in association management through the Institutes for Organization Management, and served as chair, Board of Regents of the University of Notre Dame Institute. He served as a member and chair of the Institutes for Organization Management National Board of Trustees, Indiana Society of Association Executives Long Range Planning and Finance Committees, and ISAE Board of Directors. He served as president of ISAE in 2007. He has served on the CPA Society Executives Association Board of Directors including president-elect and president from Information Technology Executive and AICPA Strategic Planning committees, and AICPA Peer Review Board. Bolinger was a member of the AICPA Uniform Accountancy Act Committee from 2007-10. In addition, Bolinger served as chair of the inaugural CPA/SEA - AICPA “Interchange” conference. Appointed to the Indiana State University Accounting Department Advisory Council in 1994, he is an honorary member of Beta Alpha Psi. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE). He has served as a presenter for ISAE and CPA SEA, the Institute for Organization Management and the ASAE Management Conference, as well as a number of accounting organizations. He has also consulted with a number of state CPA societies. He speaks to a wide variety of accounting related, business organizations and associations regularly. In 2015, 2016 & 2017 Gary was recognized by Accounting Today as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the accounting profession. In March of 2010, he was named AccountingWEB’s Outstanding CPA Association Employee. He was named Association Executive of the year by the ISAE, and received the Indiana CPA Society Chairman's Award.
