In college my area of study was Electronics Technology. It was during a college and industry sponsored work semester that I finally discovered what I enjoyed most which was troubleshooting, problem solving, repair and maintenance of machines. I have gone on to work in the office business equipment sector. I get satisfaction from solving problems with machines that are not working correctly or are intermittently causing grief and frustration for the customer. I like to say I am a CSI agent for photocopiers and find out what’s not right with them. You are not always given all the information you need to troubleshoot a problem but you have to analyze the information you do have and find the right solution. This skill set and focus is is desirable and needed in any equipment maintenance field.
