I graduated High School in 1973 and attended Trenton State College where I earned a degree to teach special education children. I taught special education classes to children who needed an individual curriculum to help them learn basic skills from September 1977 to June 1983. Every summer while I was in college and when I was teaching I worked in the construction field. In June of 1983 I became a career fire fighter for the Pennsauken Fire Department, which I had joined as a volunteer in 1973. I continued my education and earned an degree in fire science from Camden County College. I also earned my Fire Subcode, Fire Inspector, Fire Official and Construction Official licenses from the State of New Jersey. I currently am the Building Department Director for the Township of Pennsauken in the State of New Jersey, a position I have held since 1995.
