About Gary Cornwall

Gary is an accomplished Economist and Data Scientist with a PhD in Economics from the University of Cincinnati. He has extensive experience in applying advanced econometric and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems in both the public and private sectors. Additionally, he has a proven track record of novel economic research, published in peer-reviewed journals, in areas such as hypothesis testing, real estate economics, spatial econometrics, causal inference, and time series analysis. Currently, Gary is a Research Economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis where his current projects focus on valuing land underneath private structures using big data, now-casting the distribution of personal income and associated inequality metrics, and applying machine learning to foundational time series hypothesis tests. Additionally, Gary has recently served on and led committees tasked with modernizing the bureau’s statistical software environment. Gary wants to leverage his analytical expertise to drive innovative solutions and strategic insights to a variety of interesting issues.
