About Gary Devenney

A highly motivated and enthusiastic UEFA A Licence coach with 19 years coaching experience who consistently adopts a professional approach; I am always punctual and strive to be successful in all that I do. I am ambitious, driven and self motivated to be the best that I can be. An avid reader of books from genres ranging from critical thinking and self analysis, to Psychology, Philosophy, Coaching and Smart thinking. A believer in a holistic approach to player development that is built upon firstly connecting with your athlete then by creating trust and a focus on process over outcome. Within my current roles at Coleraine FC, I regularly record, tag and clip all U18s & U20s and provide objective feedback to coaches and players alike. I have recently been appointed as the Co.Londonderry Super Cup (Formally Milk Cup) Junior team (U15) Manager for 2020. Aside from my on-field coaching experience I also have an interest in Coach Education and Mentoring an area which I have exposure to through my association with TrainIsports NI as a Casual Coach Educator and Mentor. As Player Education Officer at Coleraine FC I am tasked with managing and delivering on the BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Sport. The course offers a unique blend of classroom and pitch based education whilst providing students with work based experience in the Sports and Leisure Industry.
