About Gary Duong

BackgroundI had grown up tinkering and surrounded by technology. My father would bring home circuit boards and other electronic equipment four-year-old Gary probably shouldn’t have had access to. I remember playing with 3.5-inch floppies, then booting Linux from memory sticks and exploring all there was to learn about how computers run.My passion for tech was honed from an early age through the tinkering of both hardware and software: through MMORPG gaming for hours and a keen interest in how the game was run, through reading Little Brother by Cory Doctorow about teenaged hackers and gamers overthrowing a corrupt government through Linux and code, then earning a BSc in Computer Science to prove my curiosity wasn’t had in vain.Having graduated from university, I was hired as a Platform Operations Technician at a well-known cloud vendor, apprenticing and sharpening my skills in systems administration, automation and most importantly, maintaining rock-solid infrastructure and keeping our customers at the forefront of everything we do.I am currently a Software Engineer in the Release Engineering team for Autodesk. Further backgroundI had started my own clothing brand shortly after the pandemic (2023) and continue to run it to this day. Nothing better than feeling well-dressed and confident.CompetenciesCloud Computing, Software-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Amazon Web Services, Content Delivery Networks, Operating Systems, Database Design, Automation, Project ManagementToolsPython, Amazon Web Services, SQL, PowerBI, Linux, Release Engineering
