About Gary Ellis

Prof. Gary Ellis is currently the Program Head (Chair) of Justice Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber, a position he has held since September 2010. He also acts as a consultant to several government entities and is a frequent conference presenter. His academic interests include justice and policing issues, policy, ethics and cybersecurity, crisis communications, governance, organizational change, organizational decision-making, and diversity and interpersonal relationships. He supervises and has been a member of higher education research ethics committees and is currently responsible for academic integrity at the University of Guelph-Humber. Dr. Ellis has a background of more than 30-years in policing, his experience includes a leadership role in an International crime unit, Homicide and Missing Persons, Internal Affairs, Sex Crimes and the Online Exploitation of Children. Dr. Ellis has extensive experience in international justice and executive education and is a member of the FBI National Academy Associates, the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association and The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police. He has many published works and has written training materials, including policies and procedures dealing with corporate ethics and governance
