About Gary Flather

Gary Flather is the Executive leader of large non profit youth sports program for over 15 years as the former President and current CEO of Southwestern Youth Association (SYA), he has led a wonderful group of 2800+ volunteers in magical world of youth sports. SYA is dedicated to providing the children of Southwestern Fairfax County with a safe and positive environment through sports competition. Recently Gary has led the effort to build strong partnerships with Fairfax County Schools, Parks and the Neighborhood and Community Services programs. Providing a place for young children to learn and grow as individuals while building long lasting relationships along the way is paramount to SYA. We build teamwork, leadership and a true meaning of enjoyment by leading these children in youth sports competition. SYA is currently developing Phase II of their privately owned, 110 acre parcel of land into a state of the art multi field complex. With 5 professionally maintained fields currently in use, Gary is leading the effort to complete this complex.
