Developed significant experience in integrity related matters for onshore and offshore upstream oil and gas facilities. Worked closely with valve suppliers to improve actuated and manual valve performance across the sites and ensured that correct replacements were specified for purchase. Headed numerous incident investigations to determine root cause and worked closely with site maintenance, operations and management to improve process integrity by ensuring suitable corrective actions are implemented. 12+ years as Lead Piping Engineer for brownfield and greenfield project teams in the UK and Australia. Projects included Woodside Persephone, ESSO KTT, BG Maria, Talisman Clyde produced water upgrade and many others. Two of these major projects included managing piping teams working in different geographical locations. 5+ years* as Piping Discipline Manager for AMEC in Aberdeen, UK, where the discipline had close to 100 piping engineers and designers working across various contracts. This significant role involved graduate development, recruitment, staff/contract appraisals, technical investigations, management of annual budgets, ownership of discipline procedures, plus many other important activities and was undertaken in parallel* to a full-time lead engineer role. 2+ years as a Facilities Engineer seconded into Britannia Operators Ltd. offices to provide initial scoping for projects prior to them being passed onto the EPC contractor(s) and investigating piping related incidents. 2+ years as a Piping/Mechanical Engineer at a drilling company in a leading role in the piping/mechanical team for the Talisman Claymore extended reach drilling upgrade and BP Harding aquifer injection projects. Background in piping layouts having spent 12-years early in my career in draughtsman/designer positions using PDMS, Microstation and AutoCad.
