About Gary Johnson

I am a facilities engineering and management professional. I have worked in various high tech operations ranging from sustaining class 1 wafer fabs to supporting critical facilities data centers. My background includes 10+ years as a facilites manager at both front and back end semiconductor operations and over 5 years as a sustaining mechanical engineer doing high dollar capital equipment installations in a project manager's role in the facilities department of a defense contractor that manufactured night vision surveillance equipment via semiconductor processing. In addition to the facilities systems I sustain, I have considerable experience in the design and build out of clean rooms. I have built several, my cleanest being a class 10 room at Micrel that expanded the entire clean room manufacturing operation by 30%. I guess one of my best attributes is my ability to get to the root cause of problems and come up with a corrective action that improves whatever operation required my troubleshooting skills. I enjoy this part of my work the most, as solving challenging mysteries and improving on the status quo give me a real sense of accomplishment.
