About Gary Joyce

I have worked in the marine industry over the last 20 years and in the subsea cable industry since 2008. Up until recently I was working as the Chief Operating Officer with the Atlantic Pilotage Authority. Prior to that I was contracted as Offshore Installation Manager for Siem Offshore Contractors working onboard various Cable Lay Vessel and installation vessels tasked with the installation of the HV inner array cable for large wind farm projects in Europe. My previous experience as Master onboard a multinational/ multidisciplinary fiber-optic cable ship has aided in this role. I have worked on various subsea cable installation and repair projects involving use of DP along with ROVs, and Ploughs. I began my career working onboard Canadian Coast Guard vessels in the capacities of Chief Officer, 2nd and 3rd Officers while vessels were involved with search and rescue, fisheries patrol, buoy tending, and icebreaking operations. Due to these roles I have gained experience in project management, safety systems, vessel administration and team management.
