Yes, indeed, Everyone has a story. Here are some the “pieces”. I am a survival of a Broken Home. At age 9.I went to live at Sunny Glenn Children’s Home in San Benito,Texas. During High School, I participated in Football,Basketball,Track. My senior year I was Honorable mention Defensive Halfback For the All Rio Grande Valley SBHS Greyhound 5A Team. It was there I learned the gospel, God’s Plan of Salvation and was baptized at age 13. I am so grateful to be borne into his world of grace and mercy and to have received ALL the benefits from his heart! My faith grew as I attended church camps and the encouragement of Superintendent, John Calvert and his wife Mary, Houseparents/campus director, Loyld and Lela Beasley and a dear HS friend, Norman Archibald, Major of Abilene,Texas. Upon graduating from San Benito High School, I attended LCU for two years receiving an Associate Degree in Chemistry. I transferred to Abilene Christian University and received my BSED and MSED in the teaching of Chemistry. While at Abilene Christian University I did extensive research for Chemistry Department Head, DR. Tommy McCord in the Synthesis of 1-Hydroxy Carbo-Styril that was verified by TAM University in having bacterial activity. I married Dixie Lea McGuyer. I taught AP Chemistry at Abilene High School. I was honored by the Abilene Independent School District as one the top High School teachers in Texas with the Highest Advanced Placement scores in AP Chemistry earned by students during my teaching career. It is with a humble and grateful heart that I am able to continue my Teaching Career teaching for the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department at Abilene Christian University.I am eager to join a school that values academic excellence and Christian service while faithfully walking with God.
