About Gary Mateer

With a background background in Sales, Marketing, Account Management, I have a proven track record of expanding Finnish SaaS companies to the UK, US, EU and I love what I do. I consider myself someone who can contribute in a range of areas including sales development, market expansion, customer success, marketing, strategic partnerships, increasing efficiencies in operations. In every company I have worked for, I have helped to develop more predictable and successful processes. One significant thing that I find many companies get wrong is that they focus on brand awareness a bit too much and buyer awareness too little. I am outgoing and confident but also know the importance of listening. I am the type of person that would rather accept rejection and learn from it rather than run from it. People who know me, would say that I am extremely organised in my work, and like to make sure everything is in order in all areas of my work. I also like to lift others by helping them in their work, usually it comes back around! I like to be part of the story, not just the company. Not just a member of the team, but a KEY member of the team. Able to build bridges between departments and break records in the process- Fun fact, I am fluent in the Russian language due to having lived there for 2 years as a volunteer when I was 18. Mainly I was maintaining a strict schedule, with limited contact with my family and long days. Purely doing charity work and helping people in need.
