About Gary Nordmann

In 1983 after graduating from a German high school, I entered into an Apprenticeship as a Plasterer/Dry Waller and in 1986 became a Journeyman in Germany. After accomplishing this I joined the US Army and was instructed in the hydraulic repair of construction equipment and operation of various military vehicles, both track, and wheel, but after 2 injuries, I left the service. Returning to Germany, I worked as a Journeyman in my trade, drove a moving truck for a German firm moving US military and their families. Packing and taking inventory of their household and personal belongings. Returning to the US as a single father with 3 small children was a learning experience in itself. In I was able to take a course in computer repair that was offered through the local Vo-tech. I worked for myself and various small companies as a computer technician and as a network cable installer. I really enjoyed building and repairing computers. I became unable to work due to a knee replacement that became infected and needed continued revisions and replacements until October of 2017 wherein my leg was amputated. Besides attending Independence University online to achieve my AAS in Business Management and Accounting, I also spend my time with strength exercises and walking in my leg prosthetic. With over 30+ years of working experience, I have collected a good number of hard and soft skills. I have received 4 Independence University, 1 Presidents, 1 Deans, and 2 Honor List awards sofar during my time as a student. In October of 2018, my wife and I accepted positions as voluntary (non-compensated) managers of the in-house pantry of Honor Heights Towers conducted by the Muskogee Housing Authority of Muskogee, OK.
