About Gary Norman

Gary graduated with a BA in Sociology and a BA in Women’s Studies from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. He obtained his Masters in Social Work from the University of Houston’s Graduate School of Social Work. He is an Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Certified Mediator and is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management. He has worked in the field of mental and chemical health since 1994 and has managed mental health programs since He has worked in a variety of settings including non-profit, for-profit, educational and government. Additionally, he has served as the President of the Board of Directors for the small housing non-profit in Houston, Texas as well as an At-Large Board member for a non-profit in Houston that works in the field of domestic violence. He has been the Manager of Behavioral Health for Carver County and served as the Director of Carver County’s Community Mental Health Center, First Street Center. He most recently was the Vice President of Operations for People Incorporated Mental Health Services. Lastly, he recently served as President of the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Association of Community Mental Health Program (MACMHP) and teaches part-time at Augsburg College in their Masters of Social Work program.
