About Gary Polakovic

I write, I'm a longtime environmental leader, ran a successful public affairs firm and led non-profit advocacy groups. I support scientists trying to solve the world's toughest challenges. I am a person deeply engaged in helping make the world a better place. I work at the intersection of science, health, communications and public policy. I care and make a difference. Today, I support doctors and researchers trying to cure cancer at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami. Also in academia, I was the research communications director at Colorado State University and research communications manager at USC. Previously, I created L.A-based Make Over Earth Inc, supporting clients making renewable energy, electric vehicles, green chemistry practices, clean air and healthy communities. I was an editor and writer at the Los Angeles Times specializing in environmental issues. I was a director of leading environmental and journalism NGOs. I'm exceptionally skilled at problem solving and communicating scientific and policy complexity across all media platforms.
