About Gary Sanchez

I have taught physical education for thirty-two years with the Albuquerque Public School. During that time I served as department chair and athletic director. My experience include evaluation of teacher and coaches, ordering equipment, scheduling and the day to day operation of sports related programs. Coaching boys track, football, cross country and swimming I have served as both assistant and head coach in each area. For twenty-nine years I have been the head track coach, where I am responsible for the overall program development, performance improvement, hiring and overseeing my staff while creating a team environment within our educational philosophy. I also have the responsibility of ordering and organizing all equipment and uniforms as well as inventory, storage and cleaning. For five seasons I took on the duties as head football coach which brings greater numbers in athletes, coaches, equipment and responsibilities. For nine years I have been the Project Manager of the former National Youth Sports Program, newly named Healthy U ant the U. My duties are hiring and evaluating staff and running the day to day duties of a twenty day program for economically disadvantage children in the Albuquerque area.
