About Gary Shaffer

I am a passionate believer in the ability of a well-conducted mediation to resolve most difficult matters that otherwise can only be addressed in long and costly litigation. Many courts are now adopting automatic mediation rules for all civil cases. Those programs have been enormously successful and should be expanded. I provide mediation services in a wide range of subject matter areas including Divorce, General Commercial, Construction, Real Estate, Employment, Personal Injury, and Appeals. In addition to being an experienced litigator, I have been doing mediations since 1996. I also serve on a variety of Court Mediation Panels in the State and Federal courts, including New York State Supreme Court, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. I write a regular blog on various mediation issues, which can be found on my website, Shaffermediation.com, and have authored various articles on Mediation.
