About Gary Stephenson

I have 30 years of experience of working in the Food, Oralcare, Healthcare, Cosmetic and Chemical industry with a multinational, as an independent consultant and for a food ingredient company. I have helped drive nutrition and regulatory strategies with numerous Industry Associations and government departments, chairing key food industry technical, regulatory and nutrition committees. I currently chair the executive of Food and Drink Federation Scotland, I have global regulatory, food safety and external affairs responsibility for a food ingredient (meat sector) company, influencing regulations and ensuring export certification to a business exporting to more than 100 countries. Managing our UK EU exit mitigation strategy is a key project as part of my global business continuity ownership. I have worked as a consultant in nutrition, food regulation and issue management helping primarily the food industry (snacks, breakfast cereals, food ingredients) to find solutions to its nutrition, regulatory or media challenges. This involved helping issue management, through stakeholder mapping and strategic messaging, scientific reviews and Industry association management. I am also a Registered Nutritionist, past fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health, Microbiologist.
