About Gary Stucki

Gary M. Stucki has been employed as a law enforcement officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for 27 years. Over the last 19 years of his career, Gary has been assigned as a detective in the Homicide Unit investigating crimes including homicides (murder), cold case homicides, aggravated batterys, aggravated assaults, and other felonies throughout the jurisdiction of Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. Gary has conducted and participated in approximately 310 homicide investigations and 800 death investigations involving incidents of suicide, accidental deaths, and deaths from natural or undetermined causes. Gary has been a member of the departments Officer Involved Shooting Investigative Team, which is responsible for investigating Use of Force Incidents. The investigation occurs when an officer shoots someone or is shot, regardless of the injury extent. Additionally, the team investigates officer-involved custodial incidents involving death or life threatening injury. As a member of this team, Gary has conducted and participated in 150+ Officer Involved Shootings. Gary is also a member of the Northeast Florida Child Abduction Response Team (CART), a unit that investigates when juveniles are abducted by unknown suspects. As part of his investigative duties, Gary has worked closely with other law enforcement agencies at the local, state, federal, and international level. Additionally, Gary has testified throughout the court systems of the local, state, and federal level. Gary will retire from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on December 30th, 2016.
