Over 20 years Rainbow Acres has developed program “firsts” in a residential facility for persons with disabilities; The Yamaha Clavinova Connection, Neurodevelopment with the American Christian Neurodevelopmentalist; and Fine Arts Painting. The Worden Life Long Learning Center was created Computer Lab, education programs, Socrate’s Cafe, multimedia library, and numerous short courses. The T.E.T.R.A.(Total Equine Training at Rainbow Acres) Program has expanded with a new barn and allows space for horses on the Ranch. Believing that a professional nurse could enhance the quality of life of the Ranchers, President Wagner hired the first nurse in 1996. Today, the Health and Wellness Program and team of three Registered Nurses keep the Ranchers on the road to good health. Ranchers longed for “jobs in town” and off Ranch volunteer activities, especially with animals. In response to this need the Vocational Program was established, for both on and off Ranch employment opportunities. Today over 30 Ranchers work in the surrounding communities. Rainbow Acres has added 18 new buildings for the full benefit of the Ranchers: 12 new homes, the Palmer Community Center for everyday activities for the Ranchers; a new Barn and two four-plex apartment buildings for independent Ranchers. The real estate value of land (50 acers) and facilities has grown to over $17.5 million in value. Endowment Fund was reestablished and has grown to over $2.5 Million in assets. Rainbow Acres has received recognitions; Accreditation by EAGLE of the United Methodist Association; EAGLE Award for Best Practices with Fine Arts Painting Classes; the Shining Star Award three consecutive years for The Clavinova Connection, Nurse of the Year, and Caregiver of the Year from the Assisted Living Federation of Arizona; and the Spirit of Sedona Award for 2015. Rainbow Acres is a member of American Baptist Homes and Caring Ministries; and member of the United Methodist Association.
