About Gary Wastle
I got my start in insurance with RSA where I helped bring their marketing department into the computer age. Within a year I moved into underwriting where I have enjoyed successes that brought me to more advanced roles over the course of 20 years. It was with TWIG/Totten where my skills were most appreciated. Here I moved quickly from an entry level underwriter to senior underwriter including leadership roles; winning awards for customer service, teamwork and as the company's overall top performer along the way. I stepped briefly out of underwriting with my role as an examinations specialist with the Insurance Institute of Canada where I was able to hone my already considerable written communication skills. I missed underwriting though, which brought me to TriPoint Insurance Underwriting where I slipped right back into underwriting at a senior level while acting as a mentor and a leader. With change comes opportunity and South Western Group has been a great opportunity. I am now working with excellent people in a role where I can contribute at many levels.
